Job interviews

2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Web seminar via MS Teams

Lecturer:
Björn Kirschbaum
Career Advisor for Students

Congratulations, you have received an invitation to a job interview! But how are job interviews structured and how do you prepare for them? What cultural peculiarities are there in Germany with regard to this form of interview? What is an appropriate dress code? How do you present your strengths and motivation? And is the question about personal weaknesses still asked at all?
In this workshop, these and other questions will be answered and you will learn about different types of job interviews and how to make the best impression against the background of your international profile and your individual educational biography.
In particular, we will look at how you can prepare for structured and unstructured interviews as well as remote and face-to-face interviews in a target-oriented way. Unacceptable questions, e.g. about family planning and religious denomination, will also be explained and how you can deal with them. In practical phases, you will then deal with various questions and interview techniques yourself.
