62 exchange students from all over the world have arrived on HSD campus in Derendorf on Monday, 5 September. The traditional "Orientation Weeks" started with a warm welcome from the International Office, a copious breakfast and a bunch of useful information. The two weeks to come will offer support with formal requirements, guided tours on the new campus and in the library. For those who still need an accommodation, a special tutoring service has been established. The German language crash course free of charge should encourage them to continue with a language which seems difficult - but it's worth it!
The HSD expects another 40 students - so on the whole, 100 students will benefit from international exchange. ERASMUS students from our partner universities in Europe, exchange students from partners on other continents and free movers will participate in classes and labs.
Thanks to our tutors, all the students have found their way from the railway station or the airport to their dormitories or appartments in the city! They will also organize a cultural programme as a guided tour through the city of Düsseldorf, a guided visit of Brühl palaces, a hike to the "Drachenfels" etc.
We wish all of them a succesful and fruitful stay here in Düsseldorf!
